Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information SlateAndSum ("SlateAndSum", "we", "us") handles for this website (slatesum.com), our spreadsheet templates sold on Etsy, and our mobile app SlateAndSum: Money Planner for iOS and Android. The short version: we don't run analytics, we don't have accounts, and the app keeps your data on your device.

1. This website

• We don't use analytics, advertising, tracking pixels or tracking cookies, and we don't set any cookies ourselves.
• The site is hosted by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address and browser details to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
• If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you write, and we use it only to reply to you.

2. Spreadsheet templates sold on Etsy

• Purchases are made on Etsy and processed by Etsy. Etsy shares with us the order details sellers normally receive (such as your name, Etsy username and order information). We never see your payment card details. Etsy's handling of your data is covered by Etsy's privacy policy.
• We use order details only to fulfill your order, answer your messages and handle any refund.
• The templates include Google Sheets "Make a copy" links. Using them creates a copy in your own Google Drive under your Google account, subject to Google's privacy policy. We can't see your copy or anything you type into it, and the templates contain no scripts, macros or add-ons.

3. The app: SlateAndSum: Money Planner

• Your data stays on your device. Everything you enter (budget categories, transactions, debts, accounts, net worth snapshots, your optional household name and settings) is stored only in the app's local storage on your phone.
• No account and no server. You don't sign up or log in. We don't operate a server for the app, and the app doesn't send your financial data to us or anyone else.
• No analytics, ads or tracking. The app contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code, and it doesn't connect to your bank.
• CSV export is your choice. If you export CSV files, the app creates the files on your device and opens your phone's share sheet. Where they go next (for example Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive or email) is up to you, and that service's own privacy terms apply. CSV import only reads a file you pick.
• In-app purchases (SlateAndSum Pro) are handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play). We don't receive your payment details. Purchase processing is done by Apple, Google and our payment-processing provider, which may receive the purchase receipt and an anonymous app user ID so your Pro unlock can be verified and restored. It does not receive the financial data you enter in the app.
• Links. Links in the app (such as to this website) open in your browser, and this policy covers the website as described above.
• Deleting your data. Use Settings → "Clear sample data / start fresh" to erase the data in the app, or uninstall the app, which removes its data from your device. Because we don't hold a copy, we can't recover it for you. Your phone's own device backups (iCloud or Google) may include app data according to your device settings.

4. What we don't do

We don't sell your personal information, share it for advertising, or use it to build profiles.

5. Children

Our website, products and app are not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you think a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we'll delete it.

6. Your choices and rights

You can ask us to access or delete the information we hold about you (in practice, emails you've sent us and Etsy order details). Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local law. Email us and we'll help.

7. Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the effective date above. If a change is significant, such as the app starting to collect new data, we'll say so clearly here and in the app's store listing before it takes effect.
